I absolutely love this outfit because all of the pieces are truly a perfect match for each other. The pants are high-waist so they needed to be paired with a top that can be tucked in without looking frumpy. I purchased this top from Express a while back and had yet to wear it because it looked weird with the mid waist pants I had in my wardrobe. Additionally, when paired with skirts, the top would always come untucked. So this combination was perfect since the pants are both high waist and come with a belt that is meant to be tied tight, prohibiting any top or blouse from coming untucked. This necklace is somewhat special because I almost threw it away! It’d been in my jewelry drawer since my college days and I didn’t think it fit any of my current style choices. I’m glad I kept it! With crewneck tops/blouses I always pair it with some type of neck glam so the outfit will stand out more. The pink and red rhinestones made a perfect fit to this rose gold colored top. The earrings we’re from a separate necklace set I got from Charming Charlie (see here). You can’t even tell they aren’t a perfect match!
I titled this outfit “Fine Auntie on the Job” because the pants are the form fitting giving a slight sex appeal but the belt brings a fun, fashionable element to the outfit – just like the stereotypical fine auntie!
