Autumn Apple Hibiscus Cocktail

This cocktail is the perfect marriage between two of my favorite seasons. The sweet, flowery infusion of the hibiscus is reminiscent of warm Summer nights while the Apple infused whiskey points towards the cool weather and flavors of Fall that we all love. I hope that you enjoy this drink just as much as I did! Now to the recipe!

Autumn Apple Hibiscus Cocktail:

  • 1.5 oz Crown Royal Apple Whiskey
  • .5 oz of lime juice
  • Dried Hibiscus flowers
  • Light Ginger Beer

Add crushed ice, Crown Royal Apple Whiskey, lime juice and hibiscus flowers to shaker. The hibiscus flowers add a gorgeous color to this drink, creating a “rooftop bar on a Summer night” vibe. Muddle the flowers into the liquids a bit and place the strainer on top of the shaker. I also noticed that the hibiscus flowers add a distinct floral sweetness that is complimented well by the tartness of the lime juice and give the Apple Whiskey an aromatic background to stand on. Pour the mixture into a glass that is filled halfway with ice. I found that this drink is served best over ice, opposed to other cocktails that are simply chilled by ice when shaken. Place more hibiscus flowers on top and pour the ginger beer over them. The ginger beer acts as a sharp contrast to the sweetness of the whiskey-hisbiscus combination and adds the final layer of flavor to this drink. Mix the the drink gently so that more of the color from the hibiscus gets released into the drink (but allow the flowers to remain at the top) and enjoy!
